Disaster in the Gulf (01/09/08)
This evening we danced with The Macabre again, with not so favorable results.
Deciding to try some PvP; Finian Black, Burnt Ashes, Alfredo Morales and myself left Sisal harbour with Finian Black flagged for action. We encountered the well known Pirate Halod Crane, who quickly engaged Finian Black. After the rest of us joined the battle, Halod fled. Twice more Halod engaged us or was engaged by us, eventually adding his friend (same guy we killed the night before with a messed up name impossible to remember). In the fourth attempt to join combat, the opponents gained a favorable position with regards to wind and placement and systematically tore our small civilain ships to pieces.
Reasons for failure:
1. We had utterly inferior ships compared to the opponents: We had, Locust (Civilian), Curiesse Snow (Civilian), Jamaica (Civilian), Bermuda (Civilian) - All with no outfitting at all. Opponents were both in 'Hermes' Sleek Packetboats - Outfitting Unkonwn.
2. We played around with Halod until he could call for help. We knew better and discussed it but went ahead anyway.
3. We became ragged on the Open Sea which eventually led to the unfavorable spawn and wind in the final encounter.
Learn from these mistakes, lest we become the laughing stock of the Server!

They definatley divided us and then concurred us. We can learn from what they did and in-turn return the same fate that gave us, A Trip to Davey Jones Locker.

I don't think 1 PvP encounter during pre-board will make us the laughing stocks of the server.
